What is Component Marking System or Traceability?
Traceability is a process that involves linking a unique identification to a database. This system is used to keep a track of products or an assembly throughout its life-cycle. Typically, products provided with a UID with component marking system, should be able to respond to where and what of the product at any given point of time. The databases linked to these markings should be able to provide all the data available for a trace. The data linked and procured can then be used for improving processes and overall productivity.
